Simple Ephemera Envelope Card

Make a quick decorative envelope from pre-printed ephemera pieces. This simple project shows how to fussy cut and fold ephemera elements into a functional envelope pocket that can be added to a card base.

Step by step

1. Select a pre-printed ephemera piece from your collection. ▶ watch 7:30
2. Fussy cut around the edges of the ephemera design using scissors. ▶ watch 7:45
3. Fold the ephemera piece in half along the scored line. ▶ watch 8:00
4. Apply a small amount of wet glue to the back of the folded piece. ▶ watch 8:15
5. Fold the envelope flaps inward and glue them in place to create a pocket. ▶ watch 8:30
6. Attach the finished envelope to your card base using glue. ▶ watch 9:15

Tips from the show

• Don't waste vellum—use all your ephemera pieces.
• If you're not confident with fussy cutting, remember that straight lines are easier and still look effective.
• You can add sparkle or other embellishments to personalise your envelope.
