Elegant Floral Dress Card with Stamped Lady and Layered Flower

Create a sophisticated card featuring a stamped lady figure in a dress with a layered three-dimensional flower accent. The design combines elegant line work with colourful watercolour-style dress detailing and sparkly embellishments for a refined, artistic finish.

Step by step

1. Cut a black card base and prepare a black matted layer for the card front. ▶ watch 1:02:00
2. Stamp the lady outline image onto your prepared card using black ink, positioning her towards the upper portion of the design. ▶ watch 1:05:30
3. Apply coloured ink pads (teal and purple) to the dress area using a sponging or blending technique to create a watercolour effect on the stamped lady's dress. ▶ watch 1:06:30
4. Spray the inked dress area lightly with water to blend and soften the colour transitions. ▶ watch 1:07:00
5. Add purple ink speckles around the dress area using a brush to create an artistic splatter effect that extends beyond the dress outline. ▶ watch 1:08:00
6. Stamp a sentiment such as 'You've Got This' underneath the lady's dress using black ink. ▶ watch 1:08:45
7. Die-cut the small floral flower pieces from coloured cardstock using the floral die set, ensuring all pieces are cut cleanly. ▶ watch 1:11:00
8. Glue the flower petals together, layering them to create dimension and a three-dimensional effect. ▶ watch 1:13:00
9. Attach a pink gem or embellishment to the centre of the flower for sparkle and focal interest. ▶ watch 1:13:30
10. Position and glue the completed flower onto the card, folding it slightly so it appears to be held by or emerging from the lady figure. ▶ watch 1:18:30
11. Add small foliage sprigs around the flower to complete the arrangement and create a natural, flowing composition. ▶ watch 1:19:15
12. Apply sparkly embellishments or glitter to the dress area to enhance the floaty, ethereal quality of the design. ▶ watch 1:19:45

Tips from the show

• If you don't have centres for the flower, use a sparkly gem as an alternative focal point.
• Lamination stamps are very forgiving with alignment, so don't worry if the dress colour doesn't line up perfectly.
• To save time and reduce mess, cut multiple flower pieces and stamp multiple dress outlines in one session, then assemble them all together later.
