Sparkle Everyday Reflection Card with Embossed Fireworks

Create a stunning reflection card featuring a cityscape with fireworks bursting overhead. Using the Sparkle Everyday stamp set on dark patterned paper from the Skyfire Nights collection, you'll emboss the image with white powder to create a shimmering effect that captures the magic of fireworks reflecting on water. The dramatic contrast between the dark background and white embossed details creates a striking nighttime scene perfect for celebrations.

Step by step

1. 

   Select a piece of patterned paper from the Skyfire Nights collection featuring a cityscape with a horizon line. This will be used to create a reflection design on your card.

   Prepare your heat gun by turning it on and allowing it to heat up fully before use.

3. 

   Use a sticky ink pad to ink up the Sparkle Everyday stamp. Position the stamp along the horizon line of your chosen cityscape paper, ready to stamp the sentiment.

4. 

   Stamp the reflection and fireworks design firmly onto the galaxy paper using the WOW embossing pad. Ensure good coverage by pressing down firmly on the stamp.

5. 

   Sprinkle salt-coloured WOW embossing powder (a white and iridescent mix) generously over the wet stamped cityscape image on the card.

6. 

   Heat set the embossing powder with your pre-heated heat gun, moving it quickly across the paper to avoid burn marks. Keep the heat gun moving continuously over the stamped image until the powder melts and becomes shiny.

7. 

   Trim the stamped and embossed cityscape piece to size once the embossing powder has cooled completely. Use a trimmer or scissors to cut the white card to fit your design.

8. 

   Mount the trimmed cityscape piece onto a white card blank, positioning it to showcase the embossed fireworks and their reflection in the water below.

Tips from the show

• Always heat your gun fully before applying it to paper to prevent lumps and bumps in the embossing.
• If using a glass mat underneath, lift the paper off the mat when heating to avoid heat bouncing back and creating brown burn marks.
• The reflection in the stamp is intentionally slightly faded to mimic the look of water reflections.
