Black and White Silhouette Card with Bubble Effect

Design a playful black and white card featuring children silhouettes inside a bubble or spotlight, created by layering ink and using a stencil to add white highlights that create dimension and a glass-like effect.

Step by step

1. Stamp your children silhouettes in black ink onto white card stock. ▶ watch 13:45
2. Place your circular stencil over the stamped image to create a bubble or spotlight frame. ▶ watch 14:00
3. Add yellow ink around the circle using the stencil to create a warm glow or background. ▶ watch 16:00
4. Reposition the stencil and add white ink to the edge of the circle to create a bubble highlight. ▶ watch 17:00
5. Soften the white edge with a clean, damp brush to create a realistic bubble or glass effect. ▶ watch 18:30
6. Add curved lines around the circle with white ink to suggest bubble reflections or a glass sphere. ▶ watch 19:45

Tips from the show

• You can change your mind mid-project; there's no script, so adapt as you go.
• Softening edges with a clean, damp brush creates a more realistic, polished finish.
