Winter Story Vellum and Sentiment Card

A simple but elegant card using a torn vellum hill piece layered on white cardstock with a stamped sentiment and decorative bow. The vellum creates a beautiful glowing effect when placed over the white base.

Step by step

1. Tear a piece of vellum into a hill shape from the Winter Story collection offcuts. ▶ watch 23:00
2. Place the vellum piece on a white cardstock base and secure with tape pen along the bottom edge. ▶ watch 23:15
3. Add a line of tape along the base of the vellum for extra hold if desired. ▶ watch 23:30
4. Create a decorative bow from string or ribbon and attach at the top of the card. ▶ watch 24:00
5. Stamp a sentiment such as 'merry and bright' in gold ink at the top of the card. ▶ watch 24:45
6. Trim the bow ends neatly with scissors. ▶ watch 25:30

Tips from the show

• Use a tape pen for adhering vellum rather than glue, as glue can show through the translucent material.
• Don't waste offcuts of vellum; even small pieces can be used to create beautiful layered effects.
• Changing the backing card colour behind the vellum creates a totally different look.
