Embossed Script Card with Copper Cardstock

A simple yet elegant card using copper-coloured cardstock run through an embossing folder to create a textured script background. The embossed detail gives a sophisticated, vintage look that appears far more complex than it actually is.

You will need

Step by step

1. Take a piece of copper-coloured All Surfaces cardstock. ▶ watch 19:30
2. Run the cardstock through an embossing machine with the Modern Script embossing folder to create the textured background. ▶ watch 19:45
3. Fold the embossed cardstock in half to create your card base. ▶ watch 20:00
4. Optionally, sand back the embossed areas with a nail file to reveal the white core and create a vintage wood-grain effect. ▶ watch 20:15
5. Mount the embossed panel onto your card front, positioning it so the embossing creates visual interest. ▶ watch 20:30

Tips from the show

• Embossing folders transform a plain piece of paper into a piece of art in moments.
• You can sand back embossed cardstock to reveal the white underneath and create a vintage look.
