Create a beautiful clear acetate box to hold coordinating cards and envelopes. This elegant project uses thick acetate paper that can be scored without clouding, creating a transparent presentation box that showcases your handmade cards in soft pink tones. The main techniques include scoring acetate, assembling a box structure, and coordinating card designs.

Pas à pas

1. 

   Cut two pieces of purple acetate paper to 12 inches by 10 inches using a scoring board and trimmer.

   Cut off approximately two inches from one end of the purple acetate sheet to create the base piece.

3. 

   Score the purple dotted acetate base piece at one inch on one end, as this will form the header of the envelope box.

4. 

   Score at half an inch on the bottom edge of the purple acetate sheet.

5. 

   Rotate the purple acetate sheet and score at three inches on the opposite side using the scoring board.

   Score the purple acetate at eight inches on the same side to create panel divisions.

   Cut away the two end panels from the acetate template. Remove a small corner section from the centre panel to create the envelope shape.

   Fold up the flaps on the acetate sheet to create the sides of the box. Use the score lines as guides to form neat, crisp edges.

9. 

   Apply adhesive to one side of the acetate envelope and fold over to seal the edge.

10. 

    Fold the top flap of the pink and grey striped acetate envelope down and secure it in place with adhesive to complete the box.

11. 

    Insert the coordinating cards and envelopes into the finished acetate box, arranging them neatly inside.

Astuces de l'émission

• The thick acetate construction weight does not cloud when scored, unlike thinner acetate
• Use red liner tape or high-tack adhesive for best results with acetate
• You can make multiple boxes in different colours and use them for gift sets or storage
