Create a stunning tone-on-tone abstracted card using heat-embossed silver detail, watercolour washes, and layered black ink outlines. The technique uses water to create soft, flowing colour gradients that blend beautifully around an embossed floral stamp design.
Place watercolour card into your stamping block and hold it firmly in place.
Stamp the floral bouquet image in a corner, pressing down to capture all the detail.
Use an anti-static bag to remove any dust or fingerprints from the stamped image.
Apply silver heat embossing powder over the wet stamp and heat set with your heat gun until it sparkles.
Mix black watercolour pigment to a very dark consistency on your palette.
Carefully outline the embossed image with the dark black pigment using a brush, working in segments.
Spray the card with water from a spray bottle and hold it at an angle to let the black colour flow downwards.
Continue adding more black pigment to intensify the design, then spray again with water to create the wash effect.
Allow the first layer to dry completely, then repeat the process with less water for a second glaze layer to add depth.
Add blue watercolour into the flower areas and green into the leaf areas, layering darker shades while still wet.
Add white splats across the card using white confetti or splatter medium to tie the design together.
Allow the card to air dry completely before handling or heat setting.
