A project from our live show CREATE AND CRAFT - BOX KIT - Join Toni for her latest launch show 1 - broadcast 16th Nov 22 · 16/11/2022 · watch it from 43:15

An elegant card using the embossing folder to create a window effect, then enhanced with a simple pencil shading technique. The raised embossed detail is brought to life by tilting a pencil on its side to catch and highlight the design.

Step by step

  1. Cut a piece of patterned paper from the magazine to your desired card size. ▶ watch 43:30
  2. Place the patterned paper into the 3D embossing folder, lining it up as best you can in the centre. ▶ watch 43:45

  4. Remove the embossed paper from the folder and inspect the raised window design. ▶ watch 44:15

  7. Use a black pencil to add a subtle shadow inside the window area to create depth. ▶ watch 45:00
  8. Add sparkle or glitter inside the window to create a snowy or festive effect if desired. ▶ watch 45:15
  9. Mount the embossed panel onto a card base, leaving the plain side of the paper visible if you prefer a minimalist look. ▶ watch 45:30
