Christmas Bauble Ornament Card

Create a festive card featuring decorative baubles hanging from gold string. The design uses die-cut tree shapes layered with coloured cardstock to create dimensional ornaments, finished with a snowy background and small trees for added texture.

Step by step

1. Stamp a blue distressed ink background onto cardstock, creating a skyline effect that deepens at the top and blends to white at the bottom to represent snow. ▶ watch 11:30
2. Apply water to the distressed oxide ink and use a round brush to create reactive effects, then lift off excess colour with paper towel to add depth. ▶ watch 12:15
3. Stamp a sentiment using embossing ink and heat set it with a heat gun to create a reflective gold finish. ▶ watch 13:15
4. Die-cut the Christmas tree shape from coloured cardstock, then cut the same tree shape again from a different colour to create a layered bauble effect. ▶ watch 16:15
5. Glue coloured cardstock pieces together and use circle dies to cut through multiple layers, creating dimensional bauble shapes in different sizes. ▶ watch 18:30
6. Attach gold embroidery string to the back of each bauble using tape, positioning them to hang naturally on the card. ▶ watch 23:45
7. Glue the baubles onto the card background, layering them with foam pads to create height and dimension. ▶ watch 24:30
8. Die-cut small trees from the collection and glue them into the corner spaces to finish the card design. ▶ watch 26:00

Tips from the show

• You can use the tree die in different ways - cut it without the top section to create a bauble shape instead of a traditional tree.
• If you cut six tree shapes and fold them in half, you can create 3D baubles that stand away from the card.
• The small trees included in the kit can be lifted up to give extra texture and dimension to your design.
