Watercolour Gnome Character Card with Sparkly Embossing

Create a charming gnome character card by stamping a gnome design on watercolour card, colouring it with watercolours and crayons, then embossing with sparkly blue powder for a festive finish. The result is a cute, dimensional character card perfect for Christmas.

Step by step

1. Stamp the gnome character onto watercolour card using black ink. ▶ watch 36:45
2. Colour the gnome's hat with red watercolour paint, using lighter green at the bottom and darker green at the top to create dimension. ▶ watch 37:15
3. Add white to the beard and other details using crayons or watercolours. ▶ watch 37:45
4. Apply sparkly blue embossing powder over the stamped image. ▶ watch 38:00
5. Heat the embossing powder with a heat gun until it melts and sets. ▶ watch 38:15
6. Die cut the gnome character using the coordinating die from the stamp set. ▶ watch 38:30
7. Mount the die-cut gnome onto a card base made from glitter card or patterned paper. ▶ watch 39:00

Tips from the show

• You don't have to be precious when colouring over embossing—it's secure once set.
• Lighter and darker shades of the same colour help create dimension even on flat cards.
