Coloured Gnome Character on Watercolour Card

A charming gnome character stamped on watercolour card and coloured with pencils and crayons to bring it to life. The interactive die-cut elements like pigtails lift up for added dimension and playfulness.

Step by step

1. Stamp the gnome character in black ink onto watercolour card to see the detail clearly. ▶ watch 36:45
2. Colour the gnome's hat in bright red using crayons, working over the embossed areas. ▶ watch 37:15
3. Add white to the beard and facial features using a white crayon or pencil. ▶ watch 37:45
4. Colour the gnome's clothing and other details in your chosen colours. ▶ watch 38:15
5. Apply sparkly glitter powder (Wow Blue) to the embossed areas using a heat gun to set it. ▶ watch 38:45
6. Die-cut the coloured gnome using the coordinating die to cut out the hands and tree fringe details. ▶ watch 39:00
7. Mount the die-cut gnome onto a card base with a layered background using 3D tape for dimension. ▶ watch 39:30
8. Add a sentiment stamp or sticker to complete the card. ▶ watch 40:00

Tips from the show

• You don't have to be precious when colouring; you can go over the embossing as it's now secure.
• Using lighter colour at the bottom and darker at the top helps the image lift even when flat.
• The die-cut interactive elements like pigtails can be lifted up for added playfulness.
