Holly & Berry Poinsettia Pine Cone Card

A festive 7x7 card featuring a layered poinsettia flower with a sparkly pine cone centre, set against an embossed oak slice base on patterned paper. The design combines rich Christmas colours with dimensional florals and glitter accents for a luxurious handmade card.

You will need

Step by step

  1. Cut a snippet from the patterned paper collection to use as your card base, trimming with a guillotine to size. ▶ watch 46:45
  2. Die-cut multiple poinsettia petals from the Holly & Berry paper collection in various shades of red, burgundy and lighter tones. ▶ watch 59:45
  3. Layer the poinsettia petals by pinching the edges and nesting smaller petals inside larger ones to create dimension. ▶ watch 1:10:00
  4. Create smaller poinsettia flowers in red and lighter shades to cluster around your main focal flower. ▶ watch 1:11:00
  5. Die-cut skeleton leaf foliage pieces from the paper collection and arrange them as greenery base around your flowers. ▶ watch 1:11:45
  6. Apply glue to the tips of the pine cone and dust with crystal clear colourless mixed media glitter to create an icy effect. ▶ watch 1:12:00
  7. Arrange the poinsettia flowers, greenery and pine cone on your card base, tucking leaves under elements for depth. ▶ watch 1:14:30
  8. Add additional sparkle by placing gems or glitter on the raised parts and flower centres for extra dimension. ▶ watch 1:19:30
  9. Consider matting and layering the finished design onto gold cardstock or adding a sentiment to complete the card. ▶ watch 1:20:00
