Oak Slice Embossed Craft Card

A simple but striking card featuring an embossed oak slice die-cut on cream cardstock, showcasing the natural wood grain and ring textures. The design demonstrates how the oak slice product creates instant visual interest with minimal additional embellishment.

Step by step

1. Die-cut the oak slice from craft or cream cardstock using the Oak Slices die. ▶ watch 45:30
2. Observe the embossed detailing on the die-cut, which creates both ring effects and jagged wood grain textures. ▶ watch 45:45
3. Adhere the oak slice onto a cream cardstock base to showcase the embossed detail. ▶ watch 46:00
4. Optional: distress the edges of the oak slice with ink or paint to create a weathered wood appearance. ▶ watch 46:15
5. You can colour the oak slice in traditional browns or experiment with teal and other colours for a washed-up-on-shore effect. ▶ watch 46:30

Tips from the show

• The oak slice die comes with two different shapes: one with ring effects and one with jagged edges for variety.
• You can distress and colour the oak slices to look like weathered wood or keep them in traditional browns.
