Embossed Card with Inked Edges

A sophisticated card using quality card stock run through an embossing folder, then enhanced with ink pad colour around the edges. The white core of the card stock creates beautiful contrast when sanded.

You will need

Step by step

  1. Select a piece of coloured card stock from the vintage collection. ▶ watch 48:30
  2. Run the card stock through an embossing folder using a die-cutting machine to create a raised embossed design. ▶ watch 48:45
  3. Ink up a white ink pad. ▶ watch 50:15
  4. Apply the white ink around one corner of the embossed card, creating a halo effect. ▶ watch 50:30
  5. Go over the inked area again with the white ink to deepen the halo and create layered colour. ▶ watch 51:00
  6. Optionally, apply a darker ink colour over the white to create a purplish-white halo effect for added dimension. ▶ watch 52:00
  7. If desired, sand the edges with a sanding block to reveal the white core of the card stock for contrast. ▶ watch 52:30
