Floral Fusion Layered Trellis Card with Dimensional Effect

A sophisticated card using the Floral Fusion collection's trellis die and papers to create a dimensional, layered design. The technique involves cutting the same paper pattern multiple times and stacking them to create a wedge effect that gives the illusion of depth when viewed from the side.

Step by step

1. Select two pieces from the paper pad. ▶ watch 47:00
2. Cut one piece using the trellis die. ▶ watch 48:00
3. Leave the second piece uncut as your base layer. ▶ watch 48:30
4. Cut white card three times using the same trellis die. ▶ watch 49:00
5. Glue the three white card pieces together to create a thick wedge. ▶ watch 49:30
6. Adhere the uncut paper piece to your card blank. ▶ watch 50:00
7. Glue the white wedge on top of the paper. ▶ watch 50:30
8. Overlay the trellis-cut paper piece exactly on top, aligning it precisely. ▶ watch 51:00
9. Add your pre-made sentiment piece with the word thanks, allowing leaves to weave through the trellis pattern. ▶ watch 57:30
10. Tilt the card to reveal the dimensional effect from the side. ▶ watch 1:01:00

Tips from the show

• When using the trellis die on coloured card stock, go over it with gilding waxes and confetti paints, dry brushing to bring out the wood texture and create realism in the wood grain.
• The trellis die is the hero of this kit and will be used repeatedly in your projects.
• The leaves can weave in and out of the trellis pattern for added visual interest.
