Embossed Poppy Card with White and Gold Detail

A striking A2 card featuring an A6 embossing folder run through a die-cutting machine, then highlighted with white and gold paint to reveal the dimensional poppy design. The result is an elegant card with depth and a luxurious two-tone finish.

Step by step

1. Run the embossing folder through your die-cutting machine on black cardstock. ▶ watch 7:00
2. Place a piece of white card over half of the embossed design to create a dividing line. ▶ watch 7:30
3. Lightly tap white paint onto the first half of the embossed surface to highlight the design detail. ▶ watch 8:00
4. Allow the white paint to dry, then wipe away any excess with your finger. ▶ watch 8:15
5. Apply gold paint to the second half of the embossed design using the same light tapping technique. ▶ watch 9:00
6. Mount the embossed piece onto an A2 card base. ▶ watch 9:30
7. Add a sentiment stamp or text to complete the card. ▶ watch 10:15

Tips from the show

• You only need a little bit of paint; apply it lightly to let the embossed detail show through.
• The uncoated paper in the collection can be painted on, stamped on, and worked with in many ways.
