Ghost Treat Box with Embellishments

A charming interactive treat box featuring a ghost character die-cut with moveable arms that can hold gifts or treats inside. The box is constructed from a scored and folded piece of card, then embellished with coordinating ghost designs and Halloween embellishments like spiderwebs and bat bows.

Step by step

1. Die-cut two ghost character pieces from white cardstock using the outline die from the kit. ▶ watch 23:00
2. Take a piece of card measuring 6 inches by 2.5 inches (or 15 cm by 6 cm). ▶ watch 25:30
3. Score the card at 1.5 inches from the left edge using a score tool. ▶ watch 35:30
4. Turn the card and score again at 1.5 inches from the opposite end. ▶ watch 35:45
5. Score half an inch down each long side of the card in portrait orientation. ▶ watch 36:00
6. Turn the card and score half an inch again on the opposite side. ▶ watch 36:15
7. Snip into the score lines at the corners to create flaps for folding. ▶ watch 37:00
8. Fold the card into a box shape and glue the side flaps together on the inside. ▶ watch 37:30
9. Glue one ghost character to the front of the box base. ▶ watch 38:00
10. Glue the second ghost character to the back of the box base. ▶ watch 40:00
11. Die-cut embellishments such as spiderwebs or bat bows from the glitter cardstock in the kit. ▶ watch 40:30
12. Glue embellishments into the ghost's raised hands or onto the box as desired. ▶ watch 42:00
13. Fill the box with small treats or gifts and display on a table or shelf. ▶ watch 43:00

Tips from the show

• The ghost arms pop up, allowing you to insert gifts, treats, or even a small tealight inside.
• If you use Vellum for the ghost instead of cardstock and place a tealight inside, it will flicker through the Vellum to create a ghostly effect.
• You can make the base of the box slightly wider to accommodate a tealight candle.
