Slimline Card with Dual Embossed Textures and Gold Strip

A project from our live show CREATE AND CRAFT TV - Join Toni for her brand new launch show 2 - broadcast 7th July 23 · 07/07/2023 · watch it from 15:45

Create a sophisticated slimline card by layering two different embossing folder designs on one piece of card, then hide the join with a decorative gold strip. This technique produces a high-end, textured card with minimal effort.

Step by step

  1. Take a slimline card base and position the first embossing folder (the detailed one with baubles) at the top, aligning the design so a bauble sits in the centre. ▶ watch 16:00
  2. Run the card through your die-cutting machine to emboss the top section. ▶ watch 16:15
  3. Position the second embossing folder (the floral design) at the bottom of the card, slightly overlapping where the first embossing ends. ▶ watch 16:30
  4. Run this section through the machine to create the lower embossed detail. ▶ watch 16:45
  5. Tilt the card forward to admire both the embossed (raised) and debossed (recessed) sides of the texture. ▶ watch 17:00
  6. Cut a strip of gold satin board to hide the join line between the two embossed sections. ▶ watch 17:30
  7. Glue the gold strip down the centre of the card to conceal the overlap and create a finished look. ▶ watch 17:45
