Kingfisher Floral Layered Card with Metallic Background

A more elaborate card featuring a stamped and die-cut Kingfisher bird topper layered with fussy-cut florals and mounted onto a metallic copper cardstock. The holographic paper creates a stunning backdrop that complements the bird's natural colours.

Step by step

1. Select a topper from the Songbird collection featuring the Kingfisher design. ▶ watch 19:15
2. Choose a piece of copper-toned holographic cardstock from the foundation pack as your base layer. ▶ watch 19:30
3. Mount the Kingfisher topper onto the copper cardstock using adhesive pads to create dimension. ▶ watch 19:45
4. Fussy cut additional floral elements from extra topper sheets to build around the bird. ▶ watch 20:00
5. Colour the fussy-cut flowers in yellow and orange tones to complement the Kingfisher's breast colouring. ▶ watch 20:30
6. Layer the coloured flowers around the Kingfisher using foam pads for dimension. ▶ watch 21:00
7. Mount this layered design onto a folding note card as your main focal point. ▶ watch 21:30
8. Add a die-cut sentiment word in black cardstock to complete the design. ▶ watch 22:00

Tips from the show

• The holographic paper's halo effect really highlights the colours of the bird and creates a luxurious feel.
• You get multiple copies of each topper design, so you can be generous with fussy cutting without worry.
• Matching the flower colours to the bird's natural plumage creates a cohesive, professional-looking design.
