Half-and-Half Embossed Card with Mixed Designs

A card combining two different embossing folder designs on one piece of card stock. The top half features beaded hearts and the bottom half features dripping hearts, creating a layered, decorative effect.

Step by step

1. Place your card stock into the first embossing folder (beaded hearts) and position it so only the top half will be embossed. ▶ watch 37:15
2. Run it through your die-cutting machine, being careful not to emboss the entire card. ▶ watch 37:30
3. Remove the card and place it into the second embossing folder (dripping hearts) with the bottom half positioned to emboss. ▶ watch 38:00
4. Run it through the machine again to emboss the bottom half. ▶ watch 38:15
5. Remove the card and check both embossed sections. ▶ watch 38:30
6. Mount the embossed card onto a card base, hiding the join line between the two designs with a decorative element or sentiment. ▶ watch 38:45

Tips from the show

• You can create half-and-half designs with any embossing folders to add variety to your cards.
• Hiding the join line with a banner, sentiment, or die-cut element makes the design look intentional and professional.
