Embossed Heart Card with Pigment Ink Blending

Create a beautiful friendship card by embossing a heart design with meaningful words, then stamping and blending pigment inks to create soft, distressed edges.

Step by step

1. Cut your white card stock and run it through your embossing machine with the heart embossing folder. ▶ watch 41:15
2. Stamp the heart stamp onto the embossed card using black pigment ink, pressing down firmly to ensure all details are captured. ▶ watch 42:00
3. Use your finger or a blending brush to soften harsh lines around the edges of the stamped design. ▶ watch 45:30
4. Stamp over the same area again with the black ink to reinforce the words and design after blending. ▶ watch 46:15

Tips from the show

• The heart embossing folder contains multiple font styles, which took nearly a year to perfect for readability.
• Pigment ink is ideal for this technique because it is highly blendable and contains oil, allowing you to create soft transitions.
