Embossed Christmas Card with White Core Cardstock

Create a festive Christmas card using the new DCWV cardstock with white core and the All Occasions embossing folder. The white core shows through the embossed design when you sand it back, creating a beautiful dimensional effect with elegant rose detailing.

Step by step

1. Tear a piece of the red DCWV cardstock from the 5x7 stack. ▶ watch 33:45
2. Place the cardstock in the centre of the pink base plate. ▶ watch 38:00
3. Position the All Occasions embossing folder on top of the cardstock. ▶ watch 38:15
4. Place a clear plate on top of the embossing folder. ▶ watch 38:30
5. Lower the hinged door and turn the hand crank smoothly to run the plate through the machine. ▶ watch 38:45
6. Remove the embossed card and admire the raised rose detail. ▶ watch 39:00
7. Apply white embossing ink to the raised embossed areas using an ink pad. ▶ watch 40:00
8. Allow the ink to dry completely. ▶ watch 40:30

Tips from the show

• The white core of the cardstock shows through beautifully when you sand back the embossed areas.
• You can use a sanding block to reveal the white core for extra contrast.
• The hand crank requires minimal pressure—it should feel smooth and easy to turn.
