Mini Embossed Card with Multi-Colour Ink Technique

Create a small embossed card using the All Occasions mini embossing folder with the DCWV cardstock. This project shows how to layer multiple ink colours on the embossing folder and use water spray and white ink to create depth and dimension.

Step by step

1. Select a light pink piece of DCWV cardstock for your mini card. ▶ watch 49:00
2. Ink the raised side of the mini All Occasions embossing folder with pink ink pad. ▶ watch 49:30
3. Apply additional colours to specific areas of the folder—use purple for the flower details if desired. ▶ watch 50:00
4. Place the inked folder on the pink base plate. ▶ watch 50:30
5. Position your cardstock on top of the folder. ▶ watch 51:00
6. Place a clear plate on top and run through the machine. ▶ watch 51:15
7. Lightly spray the embossed card with water to blend the ink colours slightly. ▶ watch 51:45
8. Allow to dry completely. ▶ watch 52:00
9. Use white ink pad to tap the raised details and bring out the design. ▶ watch 52:30
10. Blend the white ink with your finger if needed for a softer effect. ▶ watch 53:00

Tips from the show

• White oil-based ink is blendable, so you can use your finger to soften harsh lines.
• If you apply too much dark ink, white ink pad can rescue the design by highlighting the details.
• Spraying with water helps blend multiple ink colours together on the cardstock.
