Floral Banner Card with Black Cardstock

Create an elegant card featuring a decorative floral banner die-cut on black cardstock. The intricate banner design cuts beautifully and can be layered with coordinating circle frames for added dimension.

Step by step

1. Select a piece of black cardstock and place it on your cutting mat. ▶ watch 1:00:45
2. Position the floral banner die plate onto the black cardstock. ▶ watch 1:01:00
3. Secure the die plate to the cardstock using tape or by holding it steady. ▶ watch 1:01:15
4. Run the cardstock and die plate through your die-cutting machine. ▶ watch 1:01:30
5. Remove the cut banner piece from the cardstock and admire the intricate detail. ▶ watch 1:02:00
6. Also cut the coordinating circle frame pieces from the same die set. ▶ watch 1:02:30
7. Layer the banner onto your card base as a focal point. ▶ watch 1:03:00
8. Optionally, cut the circle frames in white cardstock and layer them behind the banner for added dimension. ▶ watch 1:03:30
9. Add a sentiment or decorative element in the centre of the banner if desired. ▶ watch 1:04:00

Tips from the show

• The banner die cuts beautifully despite its intricate design due to perfect spacing in the die.
• You can cut the circle frames in a contrasting colour and layer them behind the banner for a striking effect.
• The banner doesn't have to be used as a banner—it can be used as a decorative element anywhere on your card.
