Fancy Holiday Scratch and Reveal Tag

Create an interactive swing tag using scratch and reveal stickers to hide a surprise message. Perfect for gift tags, holiday invitations, or briefcase tags with hidden messages underneath.

Step by step

1. Cut two tags from coloured card stock to create your base pieces. ▶ watch 24:30
2. Fussy cut a flower or decorative element from patterned paper and position it on the tag. ▶ watch 25:00
3. Stamp or write your hidden message in the centre of the tag using a stamped image or white gel pen. ▶ watch 25:30
4. Stamp the 'Reveal here' or 'Scratch here' stamp onto the tag to indicate where to scratch. ▶ watch 26:00
5. Stamp a directional arrow pointing to the scratch area using different arrow orientations as needed. ▶ watch 26:30
6. Peel and apply a scratch and reveal sticker over the stamped message area, covering it completely. ▶ watch 27:00
7. Thread decorative wire, ribbon or bow through the holes at the top of the tag. ▶ watch 27:30
8. Attach the tag to a briefcase, holiday case, or door as desired. ▶ watch 28:00

Tips from the show

• The scratch and reveal stickers have a clear lining so scratching them off won't distort the stamped image underneath.
• You can use stamped images, handwritten messages, or gel pen writing under the stickers.
• Tags don't have to be on cards—they work brilliantly as swing tags on luggage or hanging from doors.
