Create an elegant white-work style card by embossing a design onto vellum and adding delicate colour to the reverse using ink and a small brush. The finished piece features soft pink and blue tones with white ink highlights on the front, creating a sophisticated layered effect with beautiful depth and dimension.
Select your vellum cardstock and choose an embossing folder from the collection. The embossing folder will create the textured design on your vellum.

Ink both sides of the embossing folder with a black or dark ink pad. Ensure the entire surface is covered with ink on both the top and bottom of the folder.

Place the vellum into the inked embossing folder and run through your embossing machine to create the raised design.

Turn the vellum over to work on the back side.

Using a small brush and coordinating ink pad, carefully colour the back of the embossed vellum design. Work on the reverse side so the colour shows through subtly from behind the raised elements.

Allow the back colouring to dry completely before continuing with the next step.

Turn the vellum over to the front side, keeping the stamped flowers face up.
▶ watch this step (45:15)
Using a white ink pad, tap highlights onto the front of the vellum to bring back definition. This creates contrast with the pink coloured backing and adds dimension to the stamped design.

Optional: soften any visible lines on the back of the vellum by applying more pink ink over them and blending it out with your brush to create a smooth gradient effect.

Mount the finished vellum piece onto coordinating cardstock or patterned paper. Position the vellum carefully to showcase the coloured background through the design.
