Partial Embossed Panel Card with Mount Board

A project from our live show MONDAY PODCAST - Join Toni Darroch for her latest updates and inspiration - Broadcast 17th July 23 · 17/07/2023 · watch it from 23:30

Create a card with selective embossing on only part of the design using mount board as a blocker. This technique gives you embossed texture on one section whilst keeping the rest flat, perfect for adding visual interest without overwhelming the whole card.

  2. Place your cardstock into the embossing folder as if you were going to emboss the entire image. ▶ watch 24:15
  3. Position a piece of mount board (approximately 2mm thick) over the area you want to remain flat, blocking the embossing in that section. ▶ watch 26:30
  4. Insert the embossing folder with the cardstock and mount board into your die-cutting machine using the thin plate setting. ▶ watch 27:00
  5. Run the folder through the machine, applying gentle pressure. ▶ watch 27:15
