A bold, empowering card featuring a rock chick character with attitude. This project demonstrates how to use masking techniques and mixed media to create dramatic, personalisable designs with different era aesthetics.

Step by step

1. Stamp the girl character in monochrome to see the full design with skull t-shirt detail. ▶ watch 7:45
2. Mask off the skull t-shirt if you want to change the design or create a different look. ▶ watch 8:00
3. Colour the character using your chosen technique—subtle grey tones for simplicity or bold colours for drama. ▶ watch 8:15
4. Experiment with different hair colours and styles to create totally different eras and moods. ▶ watch 8:30

Tips from the show

• You can create a Gothic or Wednesday Addams aesthetic by using darker, moodier colours
• The design works well for creating a Camden Town or alternative look
