Use partial stamping of the tree designs to build up a layered forest landscape within the wolf silhouette stencil. This technique creates depth and an artistic, scenic effect on your card.

Step by step

Create a silhouette using the exterior stencil and a grey or teal ink pad on your card base. ▶ watch 26:30
Add a contrasting colour (such as teal) to the bottom portion of the silhouette to create a horizon line. ▶ watch 27:00
Stamp a sentiment or text within the silhouette using a transparent stamp so you can see placement clearly. ▶ watch 27:15
Partially stamp the tall tree design at the bottom of the silhouette, using only the lower portion of the stamp. ▶ watch 27:45
Build up additional trees by stamping them at varying heights within the silhouette to create a forest landscape effect. ▶ watch 28:15
Use black ink for the trees to create strong contrast against the coloured background. ▶ watch 29:00
Add a sentiment stamp at the bottom of the design to complete the card. ▶ watch 30:00

Tips from the show

Partial stamping means you don't have to use the entire stamp design—just the portion you need.
Varying the height and overlap of tree stamps creates a natural, layered forest effect.
Transparent stamps allow you to see exactly where your design will land before stamping.
